Understanding Anxiety

Anxiety is more than just temporary worry or fear; it can be intense and feel irrational yet the unease can significantly affect your life. It manifests in various forms, including generalised anxiety disorder, panic attacks, phobias, and social anxiety, each with its own set of symptoms but commonly leading to avoidance behaviours, physical symptoms like palpitations, sleep disturbances, and an inability to stay calm and focused.

It is important to acknowledge these symptoms as signs of a deeper issue that, with support and care, can be addressed.

My Personal Approach

As a Psychosynthesis Psychotherapist, my initial step in addressing anxiety involves creating a safe, empathic environment for our therapeutic relationship to grow. Together, we can explore the roots of your anxiety and how past experiences, deep-seated fears, or existential questions may be contributing to your current state. Through guided imagery, mindfulness, and journaling, we access inner resources and wisdom, fostering a holistic integration of body, feelings, mind, soul and spirit.

Encouraging the exploration of your spiritual essence, we seek to uncover a sense of purpose and connection, crafting practical self-care strategies that encompass somatic awareness, stress management, and the nurturing of social connections.
